STUDIO NOTES

Getting organized
is part of making.

Small habits to take care of your crochet and knitting projects.

01 / PROJECTS

How do you organize a crochet or knitting project?

Before the first stitch, note the finished size, your hook or needles and the pattern reference. Record the yarn, color and dye lot for later. When you pause, leave a note about the next step: it makes returning easier, even when a project has been tucked away for weeks.

02 / ROWS

How do you use a row counter?

Decide what each count represents: a row, a round or a pattern repeat. Update the counter at the same point each time, such as when you finish a row. For repeating patterns, keep one count for the total and another for the sequence you are working on.

03 / MATERIALS

How do you organize your yarn stash?

Sort yarn by fiber, weight or the type of project you plan to make. Record the amount available and keep the label with yardage, color and dye lot. Before buying more, check what is already reserved for other pieces. Tracking usage helps you put leftovers to work in smaller projects.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST STITCH

Let’s untangle
your questions.

What is Yarnfolio?

Yarnfolio is an app for organizing crochet, knitting and weaving projects. It brings together notes, photos, a row counter, a timer and a materials inventory to follow your creative process.

Does it work for both crochet and knitting?

Yes. You can organize crochet, knitting and weaving projects, from amigurumi and accessories to clothing and blankets. Notes and materials stay linked to each project.

Can I count rows and track my time?

Yes. Yarnfolio includes a row counter and timer for each project. You can track your count and working time, including while the app is minimized during a session.

Can I manage yarn, needles and notions?

Yes. The inventory organizes all three types of materials and lets you link them to projects. Purchase tracking and automatic inventory deduction are Pro features.

Does Yarnfolio teach crochet or provide patterns?

Yarnfolio focuses on organizing your work. Use project notes to save references to patterns you already use and track your progress as you make a piece.

How can I try it? Is it available for iPhone?
